Omnisend Review 2026: Ecommerce Email Automation at a Lower Price
Free plan
Free (250 contacts) · Standard from $16/mo · Pro from $59/mo
Best for Shopify, WooCommerce and BigCommerce stores that want ecommerce automation and forms without Klaviyo's price. Omnisend covers the ecommerce automations most stores need for less than Klaviyo, with unlimited seats. Note that headline prices are 3-month promos, SMS is Pro-only since May 2026, and non-subscribers are billed.

Documented product use supports the testing notes on this page.
For most small and mid-size stores, Omnisend covers the automations that drive revenue at a lower price than Klaviyo, with no seat limits. Its pricing has changed, though. The headline prices are 3-month promos, SMS now needs Pro and a separate credit plan, and you pay for non-subscribed customers. Price it with those in mind.

Above 150,000 contacts, pricing is custom.
Sending limits:
- Free: 500 emails and 500 web push a month.
- Standard: email sends up to 12x your contact tier, with unlimited web push.
- Pro: unlimited email, with a fair-use limit that Omnisend’s pricing page puts at up to 60x your list.
Introductory offer: if this is your first upgrade to a paid plan and you pay 3 months upfront, you get 30% off. After those 3 months you pay the regular monthly price. For example, Standard at $48/month becomes $33.60/month for those first 3 months.
Pro gets expensive above about 11,000 contacts. In the table, Pro at 15,000 contacts ($348) costs much more than at 10,000 ($150). Check the calculator before you cross that line.
Who you pay for
Omnisend bills subscribers plus non-subscribers. Non-subscribers include customers who bought without opting in, cart and browse abandoners, people who created a store account, and contacts imported without an opt-in date. Only unsubscribed contacts are excluded.
To lower your bill, unsubscribe or delete contacts you won’t email. The change takes effect at the next billing cycle. If you grow past your tier, Omnisend’s terms say you’re moved to the higher tier in the next billing cycle.
What a store program costs
This is an example only, calculated from Omnisend’s and Klaviyo’s published monthly prices (checked Oct 7, 2026). Assumptions: email only, monthly billing, no SMS, no promo, no add-ons.
| Contacts | Omnisend Standard | Omnisend Pro | Klaviyo Email |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | $20 | $59 | $30 |
| 5,000 | $81 | $90 | $100 |
| 10,000 | $132 | $150 | $150 |
| 25,000 | $282 | $400 | $400 |
Klaviyo bills only active (emailable) profiles. Omnisend also bills non-subscribed customers. If a large share of your customers never opted in, the gap narrows. See Klaviyo vs Omnisend.
SMS after the May 2026 change
- Which plans: SMS is available on Pro only. New Free and Standard accounts can’t send SMS. Older Free and Standard accounts keep their existing SMS only while their pre-May SMS subscription stays active.
- How it’s billed: through a separate monthly SMS credits subscription. Current Pro no longer includes bundled SMS credits. Older Pro accounts keep their bundled credits until Oct 26, 2026, when they move to the current Pro.
| Monthly SMS spend | US rate per SMS |
|---|---|
| $10 to $49.99 | $0.009 |
| $50 to $999.99 | $0.0085 |
| $1,000 to $9,999.99 | $0.008 |
| $10,000 and up | $0.007 |
- MMS: US and Canada only, from $0.027 down to $0.021.
- Credit expiry: credits expire 60 days after they’re issued.
- Message length: each SMS segment is 160 characters, and longer messages are billed per segment.
- US and Canada setup: sending to US and Canadian numbers requires a verified toll-free number.
If SMS is central to your plan, budget for Pro plus credits.

Key Features
Every Omnisend feature is designed around the ecommerce customer journey:
- Pre-Built Ecommerce Automations — Abandoned cart, browse abandonment, welcome series, post-purchase follow-up, win-back, order confirmation, and shipping notifications. These flows are ready to activate within minutes of connecting your store.
- Multi-Channel Workflows — Combine email and web push in a single automation, and add SMS on Pro (since May 2026, with separate SMS credits).
- Deep Ecommerce Integrations — Native connections with Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Wix and other platforms (Magento 1 for browse tracking). See Store integrations below for what each one syncs.
- Product Picker — Drag products directly from your store into email designs. Prices, images, and descriptions populate automatically. No copy-pasting or manual updates needed.
- Discount Code Generator — Create unique discount codes within emails for personalized promotions. Codes can be one-time use to prevent sharing.
- Product Recommendations — A basic recommender (bestsellers, latest) on every plan; personalized recommendations on Pro or as a paid add-on on Standard.
- Revenue Attribution — See exactly how much revenue each campaign and automation generates.
- Audience Segmentation — Segment by purchase behavior, lifecycle stage, engagement level and browsing activity, with an AI segment builder on every plan.
- A/B Testing — Test subject lines, content, send times, and workflow variations to optimize performance.
- Pop-ups, Forms, and Landing Pages — Conversion-focused lead capture tools designed for ecommerce: spin-to-win wheels, exit-intent pop-ups, and product-focused landing pages.
Ease of Use
Omnisend is noticeably easier to use than Klaviyo, which is one of its key advantages. The onboarding process guides you through connecting your store, importing your product catalog, and activating the core ecommerce automations. You can have abandoned cart, welcome series, and post-purchase flows running within your first session.
The email editor is drag-and-drop with ecommerce-specific blocks: product listings, discount codes, product recommendations, and order tracking. The product picker is particularly well-implemented — browse your catalog and drop items directly into your email design.
The automation builder uses a visual workflow format that is clear and logical. Pre-built templates for every common ecommerce scenario mean you rarely need to build automations from scratch. For ecommerce store owners who are marketers second and business operators first, Omnisend's approachability is a significant advantage over Klaviyo's data-dense interface.
Store integrations
- Shopify: two-way sync of contacts, orders and products. Historical data syncs within about an hour, and orders and events within minutes. Omnisend is a Shopify Plus Certified App and connects to Shopify Flow. On Shopify 2.0 themes, the Omnisend app embed must be turned on for tracking to work.
- WooCommerce: free plugin. Since May 2026, contact data syncs through Omnisend’s API.
- BigCommerce: syncs contacts, products and orders.
- Wix: syncs contacts only, with no product or order history. Abandoned cart is supported.
- Also native: WordPress, Ecwid, PrestaShop, Big Cartel and others.
- Browse abandonment: works on Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce and Magento 1, and only for identified visitors.
Deliverability: what Omnisend documents
Omnisend generates SPF, DKIM and DMARC records for your sending domain at no charge on any plan. It publishes a walkthrough for the 2024 Gmail and Yahoo sender rules. Test emails always send from Omnisend’s shared domain. Omnisend offers a dedicated IP only after a deliverability review. Its recommended minimum is 300,000+ emails a week, with low bounce and complaint rates and a 15 to 30 day warm-up. It doesn’t publish a price. We don’t cite third-party deliverability rankings.
Moving to Omnisend, and leaving it
- Free migration: for accounts with more than 250 contacts. Omnisend moves all contacts, up to 4 workflows, 5 forms, 5 segments and 1 master template, in about 5 business days.
- Importing: contacts can be imported with email and SMS opt-in or opt-out dates. Contacts without an opt-in date arrive as non-subscribers, and they’re billed.
- Leaving: contacts export to CSV with custom fields. We couldn’t confirm an export for automations or templates, so plan to rebuild them.
- Inactive accounts: under Omnisend’s current terms, accounts are deleted after 3 months without a login.
